A type foundry is like a factory that makes special versions of the letters and numbers that you see in books, magazines, and websites. The people who work at the type foundry have special skills that allow them to make all the different kinds of lettering that you see. The special lettering that they make is called typefaces and they can be used to give a document or website a unique look.
