ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Typographic unit

Typographic unit is a way of measuring size for a font or a piece of text. It is usually measured in points, which are a measurement that is 1/72 of an inch. For example, if you want your font to be a little bigger, you may choose a 12 point font instead of a 10 point font. While 12 point font isn't much bigger than 10 point font, it still makes a difference in how the text looks.
