ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

UK Border Force

The UK Border Force is a team of people who work for the UK government to make sure that people and things coming into the country are safe and legal.

Imagine if you were having a party and you wanted to make sure that no strangers came in who might cause trouble, steal your toys or hurt your friends. You would stand at the door and check that each person who came in was invited and had a good reason to be there. The UK Border Force does the same thing, but instead of a party, they are checking who comes into the country.

They work at airports, seaports, and at the Channel Tunnel (a big tunnel that goes under the sea to connect the UK and France). They check passports and visas to make sure that people are allowed to come in, and they might ask questions to make sure that nobody is trying to sneak in who shouldn't be there.

They also check things that are being brought into the country, like suitcases and cargo on big ships. They want to make sure that nothing dangerous is being brought into the UK, like weapons or drugs.

The UK Border Force is a bit like a team of superheroes, working hard to keep the country safe and protect people like you and me.
