ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

UL (safety organization)

UL is an organization that helps make sure things are safe. When people make things like toys, electronics or other things people use, they want to make sure they don't hurt anyone. So, the people who make those things can ask UL to test them and check if they are safe. UL has special people who are called scientists who test the things to make sure they won't hurt you or start a fire or anything like that. If the scientists at UL think it's safe, they stamp it with a special logo that means it passed their test. This is like how your parents might check your toys to make sure they're safe to play with, but UL does it for everyone!
