Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a way for doctors to look inside your body without making any cuts or putting any instruments inside you.

It works by using a special machine that has a wand called a transducer. This wand sends sound waves into your body, which bounce off your organs and tissues and return to the machine.

The machine then turns those sound waves into pictures that the doctor can see on a screen. It's kind of like taking a picture with a camera, but instead of using light, we use sound.

The sound waves used in ultrasound are too high-pitched for you to hear, sort of like how dogs can hear sounds that humans can't.

Ultrasound can help doctors see things like the size and shape of organs, blood flow, and even the movement of your body's fluids. It's used to check on developing babies in pregnant women, to look for problems with organs like the heart or liver, and to guide procedures such as biopsies or needle aspirations.

Overall, ultrasound is a really cool and helpful way for doctors to see inside the body and make sure everything is working properly.
