Unacceptable Levels

"Unacceptable levels" means that something is present in a certain amount that is not safe or healthy for us humans. For example, if we drink water that has too much of a certain chemical in it, it can make us sick.

Just like when we eat too much candy and it is not good for us, sometimes things in our environment can be harmful if we are exposed to them in high amounts.

Scientists study the things in our environment to make sure we are safe. If the levels of certain things are too high, they may say that they are "unacceptable levels" because they can be harmful to our health.

It is important for us to know what these unacceptable levels are so we can avoid them and stay healthy.
