Uncertainty Reduction Theory is a theory that explains how people communicate when they're first getting to know each other. It says that we look for information about each other in order to reduce the uncertainty we feel - that feeling of not knowing enough about a person. We do this by talking with each other, asking questions, and listening to each other's answers. We also do this by observing each other, or watching each other's behavior. By doing these things, we can learn more about each other and the uncertainty we feel decreases.
