Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) is a type of modern software that helps a computer start up and run properly. It helps your computer connect to different programs and hardware by providing an interface (or bridge) between them. When you turn on your computer, UEFI helps get it started by running a set of instructions in a specific order. UEFI replaces the older type of software called BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) that was used in older computers.
