Uniform tiling

Okay kiddo, do you know what a tile is? It's a flat piece of material, like ceramic or wood, that is used to cover a surface like a floor or a wall.

Now imagine you have a bunch of tiles that are all the same shape and size, and you want to use them to cover a bigger surface. If you arrange these tiles in a way where they fit together perfectly without any gaps or overlaps, that's called uniform tiling.

It's kind of like putting together a puzzle, where every piece has to fit just right. The tiles can be arranged in different patterns, like checkerboard or hexagon, but as long as they all fit together perfectly and look the same, it's uniform tiling.

It's important to make sure your tiles are arranged uniformly because it makes the surface look neat and clean, and also helps the tiles stay in place without any shifting or cracking. Pretty cool, huh?
