United Kingdom–European Union relations

The United Kingdom (UK) is a country that is part of Europe. The European Union (EU) is a group of countries in Europe that work together to make sure everything runs smoothly in the region. The UK is a member of the EU, which means the countries in the EU work together to help the UK and the rest of Europe. This includes things like working together on trade deals and helping each other with security and other issues. The UK and the EU also share a common currency, the euro. This means that when people from the UK buy things in other EU countries, they can use the euro instead of their own currency. This makes it easier for people who travel around Europe. However, the UK recently voted to leave the EU, which means that the UK and the EU will soon be separate. This will change a lot of things, including how they work together and what kinds of deals they can make.
