ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

United Nations Environment Programme

The United Nations Environment Programme is a group of grown-ups from all around the world who get together and talk about ways to help take care of the Earth. Just like your parents tell you to clean your room, these grown-ups tell countries and people to take care of the Earth so that it stays healthy for you and other kids to enjoy for a really long time.

The United Nations Environment Programme works kind of like a big team. They figure out problems that the Earth is facing, like pollution, climate change, and animals losing their homes, and then they try to come up with solutions to fix those problems. They also help different countries work together to help the Earth, because the Earth is the home of everyone on it, no matter where you live.

One way the United Nations Environment Programme helps is by asking people and countries to use less energy, reduce waste, and use resources more carefully. They also create laws that help limit pollution and protect animals and plants. These are just some of the ways that this group of grown-ups tries to make the world a better place for you and everyone else.
