The United States of America (USA) is a country in North America, which is made up of 50 states. Each state is like its own little country with its own laws, its own government and its own culture. The United States is also made up of many cities, towns and other areas. Washington, D.C., is the capital of the United States. This is where the President of the US lives and works. The US is home to many different people from different places around the world. People from the US are called Americans, and they come in many different colors and speak different languages. The US has a government that is made up of a President, Congress, and a Supreme Court. All these people work together to make laws and protect the rights of the people of the US.
