The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is a group of grown-ups who like to help the Coast Guard do their job. The Coast Guard is like a superhero that protects people who ride boats and ships on the water. The Auxiliary helps the Coast Guard by doing some of the things that they need to do, like helping people when their boats break, looking out for bad things in the water, and teaching people how to be safe on boats.
The members of the Auxiliary aren't superheroes like the Coast Guard, but they still work really hard to help them out. They volunteer their time and knowledge to help other people stay safe on the water. They wear special uniforms and work with the Coast Guard in different places like lakes, rivers, and even the ocean. These grown-ups work together to make the world a better place, just like when we share toys and play nicely with our friends.
