United States Office of Research Integrity

The United States Office of Research Integrity (ORI) is a part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and is responsible for making sure that research funded by the U.S. government is honest and accurate. ORI works to protect the public by making sure that scientists who are doing research with federal money follow ethical guidelines and do not commit fraud or other serious scientific misconduct. ORI investigates research misconduct complaints, monitors research projects, and provides oversight and guidance to help ensure that research is conducted properly. ORI also works to ensure scientific research is conducted in the best interest of all involved.
