Unity candle

Okay kiddo, have you ever been to a wedding and seen a big candle in the middle that two smaller candles are lit from? That's a unity candle!

When two people get married, they often light two smaller candles - one for the bride and one for the groom - at the beginning of the ceremony. During the ceremony, they each take their candle and light the big unity candle together to show that they are joining their lives together as one.

It's like when you mix two colors together to make a new color! When the bride and groom light the unity candle together, they are creating something new and special by joining their lives together.

Sometimes, the bride and groom's parents will also light candles and those candles can also be used to light the unity candle to symbolize the two families joining together too!

It's a really special moment in a wedding ceremony that reminds everyone that the couple is starting a new life together and that they have the support and love of their families.
