Uruguayan Portuguese

Uruguayan Portuguese is a type of Portuguese spoken in Uruguay. It's similar to Brazilian Portuguese, but there are a few differences, just like how there are differences between American English and British English.

When Portuguese people came to Uruguay a long time ago, their language mixed with the other languages spoken in the area. This made Portuguese in Uruguay a little different from the Portuguese spoken in Portugal or Brazil.

For example, in Uruguayan Portuguese, they say some words differently than in Brazil or Portugal. They also use some words that are different from what Brazilian or Portuguese people use.

But don't worry, if you speak Portuguese from Brazil or Portugal, you will still be able to understand Uruguayan Portuguese. It's like how you can still understand someone from England even if you are used to hearing American English.

Uruguayan Portuguese may sound a little different from other types of Portuguese, but it's still Portuguese! And just like how we all speak and write in different ways, people all around the world use different versions of the same language.
