ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Value-added reseller

Okay so, have you ever gone to a store to buy a toy, but you didn't just buy the toy itself? You also got some stickers to decorate it, a special bag to carry it in, and maybe even a little book on how to play with it?

Well, that's kind of like what a value-added reseller (VAR) does. They sell products to people, but they add extra things to make the product even better.

Let's say you want to buy a computer. You could just buy one online or in a store, but a VAR might offer special software that will help protect your computer from viruses, or maybe they'll give you extra storage space. They might offer training so you can learn how to use your computer better, or they could even build a custom computer just for you!

So, a VAR takes something that's already good, and makes it even better by adding extra things that customers might want or need. It's like going to a birthday party and getting more than just cake - the VAR gives you a whole experience!
