ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Variations of white

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen paint or crayons before? They come in many different colors, right? But today, we're going to talk about one specific color: white.

Now, did you know that there are many different shades of white? It's true! Just like there are different shades of blue or red.

Let's start with the purest form of white. It's called "bright white". You might see this in paper or on a fresh coat of paint. It's super bright and almost hurts your eyes to look at.

But then, there's "cool white". This has a bit of a blue tint to it and looks really icy. You might see this in a lot of modern homes or offices.

On the other side of the spectrum, there's "warm white". This has a bit of a yellow or orange tint to it, and feels cozy and inviting. You might see this in a lot of homes or restaurants.

There are even more shades of white than just these three, but hopefully that gives you an idea of how many variations there can be!
