Ver Sacrum

Ver sacrum is a Latin phrase that means "sacred spring." It was a traditional ancient Roman ritual that involved sacrificing young animals (very often spring lambs) to the gods. During the ritual, the animals were sacrificed and any offerings made were then thrown into a fire. Sometimes, people would also throw other items, such as coins or jewelry, into the fire as offerings. After the ritual was over, people would collect the remains and use them to create special items or to celebrate.Ver sacrum was thought to bring good luck and the promise of a strong future.
