Vernacular architecture

Vernacular architecture is the type of buildings people create in their own regions using local materials and techniques that have been used for many generations and passed down from person to person. People build these structures for their homes, barns, stores and more, and they are unique to each region because of the materials and techniques used in each place. For example, a home in the desert might be made out of adobe because the soil in the desert is perfect for this building method, whereas a home in a wooded area might be made out of wood because it is plentiful. That's why, when you travel around the world looking at buildings, each place looks different, because people build with the materials that are available in their immediate surroundings.
