Versatile Video Coding

Okay kiddo, do you know what a video is? It's like watching a movie or a cartoon on TV or on your computer.

Now, you know how sometimes a video takes a long time to download or it takes up a lot of space on your computer or phone? That's because videos have a lot of information in them. It's like a big puzzle with lots of tiny pieces, and your computer or phone has to put all the pieces together in the right order to show you the video.

Well, Versatile Video Coding (VVC) is a new way of putting together the puzzle pieces in a video so that it takes up less space on your computer or phone, but still looks really good when you watch it. It's like when you put a lot of things in a small bag by folding them and making them fit together.

VVC does this by taking out some of the pieces of the video puzzle that aren't as important, and keeping the pieces that are really important to make the video look good. This way, the video still looks great, but it doesn't take up as much space.

This is really helpful because it means that you can have more videos on your phone or computer without running out of space, and you can download videos faster because they don't take as long to transfer onto your device.

So, that's what Versatile Video Coding is, a new way of putting together video puzzles that saves space and makes it easier to watch more videos!
