Victorian era

During the Victorian era, which was a time long ago in the past around the 19th century, people in England had a Queen named Victoria who was very important. Everyone during this time wore long dresses with tight corsets, and men wore suits that looked like they were from old movies. The streets were full of horses and carriages instead of cars, and people didn't have electricity, so they used candles to light their homes. They had fun playing games like croquet and going on long walks, but they also had to work hard in factories and mines. Kids went to school, but it was different than our schools now because they had to memorize things like poetry and geography. People also read books and wrote letters to each other instead of sending emails or texts like we do now. Even though it was a long time ago, the Victorian era is still remembered as an important time in history when a lot of things changed.
