ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Vietnamese language

Vietnamese language is a way that people in Vietnam use to speak and write to each other. It has a lot of tricky sounds that can be hard to make, like the "ng" sound and the different tones that can change the meaning of a word.

Vietnamese has its own alphabet, which uses some of the same letters as English but some different ones too. For example, instead of the letter "y," Vietnamese has the letter "ư."

There are also lots of words in Vietnamese that don't have an exact translation in English, so it can be hard to learn what they mean. But don't worry, with practice and patience, you can learn to speak and read Vietnamese just like a local!
