Imagine a really long time ago, there was a big kingdom in India called the Vijayanagara Empire. They were a powerful group of people who ruled over a big area of land. Just like how you have a teacher in your school, the people in the Vijayanagara Empire also had a king who made important decisions and rules for the kingdom.
The people in the Vijayanagara Empire were really smart and talented. They built big temples, palaces and forts that were very pretty to look at. They also had skilled artists, writers and musicians who made beautiful paintings, books and songs.
