Violence Against Women Act

Okay kiddo, let me tell you about the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). VAWA is a law that helps protect women and girls from bad people who might hurt them.

VAWA helps the police and the court system catch and punish people who do things like hitting, hurting, or scaring women and girls. It also helps provide support for victims, like counseling and safe places to stay.

VAWA was started because some women and girls were not being treated fairly and were being hurt by mean people. So, the government made this law to help protect them and make sure they get the help they need.

With VAWA, women and girls can feel safer knowing that the government is working to keep them safe and help them if they are ever hurt.
