Violence and video games

Okay, kiddo! So, you know how you love playing video games like Minecraft or Mario, right? Well, there are some video games that have people fighting and hurting each other inside them, like Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto.

Some people worry that playing these violent video games could make kids like you want to be violent in real life. But there is no strong evidence to prove that playing violent video games makes kids behave violently in real life.

Playing games that have weapons and fighting is just pretend play, like when you play cops and robbers with your friends. You know that it’s not real and you wouldn't want to hurt anyone in real life.

Sometimes, when people are feeling angry or upset, they might use video games as an escape or outlet for their emotions. But this doesn't mean that they will act violent, instead, it can actually help them feel better and let out their feelings in a safe space, like a punching bag or punching pillow.

In conclusion, playing violent video games does not make kids violent in real life. It's just pretend play, like any other game or toy you have. As long as you know the difference between the game and real life, it's okay to play violent video games.
