Vladimir Shukhov

Vladimir Shukhov was an incredibly clever engineer from Russia. He design structures called "hyperboloids", which are shapes like the top of a lamp or a camera lens. He used these structures to make buildings and bridges very strong, but also very light, which meant his designs could last for a long time. He changed the way people built things and helped to make them safer and last longer.
