Volatile Organic Compounds Protocol

Okay kiddo, so you know how we need to breathe and we need clean air to do that? Well, sometimes there are things in the air that we can't see or smell, but they're not good for us to breathe in. These things are called volatile organic compounds, or VOCs for short.

So, grown-ups made something called the volatile organic compounds protocol to help make sure there's not too many of these VOCs in the air. It's like a set of rules for companies and factories to follow so they don't make too many of these bad VOCs.

The protocol says that there are certain types of chemicals that can't be used in things like cleaning products or paint because they make too many VOCs. This helps keep the air cleaner and healthier for us to breathe in.

Sometimes, grown-ups use special machines to measure how many VOCs are in the air to make sure they stay at safe levels. And if they find out there's too many VOCs in the air, they'll try to figure out where they're coming from so they can fix it and make the air cleaner again.

So, basically, the VOC protocol is like a grown-up rulebook to help keep the air clean and healthy for us to breathe in.
