ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Volumetric flux

Volumetric flux is like how much water is flowing through a pipe. Imagine you have a big water hose and you measure how much water flows through it in a certain amount of time. That's like volumetric flux.

Let's say you measure that 10 gallons of water flows through the hose in one minute. Then you can say that the volumetric flux of the hose is 10 gallons per minute.

This can also be applied to other things that flow, like air or gas. For example, if you want to know how much air is moving through a room, you could measure the volumetric flux of the air.

So, just like measuring how much water flows through a hose, volumetric flux measures how much of something is moving through a specified area over a certain amount of time.
