Volunteer fire department

A volunteer fire department is a group of people in the community who are not paid to respond to emergencies, like fires or car accidents. Just like a regular fire department, these volunteers wear special clothes and use big trucks with hoses and tools to put out fires and help people who are hurt. They do this to help protect their community and keep people safe.

The difference between a volunteer fire department and a regular fire department is that a volunteer fire department is made up of people who do it because they want to help, not because they get paid to do it. They might have other jobs during the day, but they are ready to drop everything and come help when there is an emergency. Because they are volunteers, they usually have special training to make sure they know how to use all the tools and equipment and keep everyone safe.
