When you eat food, your body breaks it down so it can go to all the parts of your body that need it. Sometimes, your tummy might get upset and feel like it needs to get rid of the food quickly. This might come out of your mouth in a spewing motion called vomiting. This can happen when you eat something that doesn't agree with your tummy, when you feel really sick, or when you get really scared or grossed out by something. Your body knows how to take care of itself and throwing up is one of the ways it keeps you healthy. It makes you feel better because your body gets rid of things that may be making you feel sick or uncomfortable. Remember, if you feel like you need to vomit, it's ok to let it happen and to tell a grown-up so they can help take care of you.
