WHO Pesticide Evaluation Scheme

So, you know how sometimes we use sprays or powders to keep bugs or pests away from our plants or food? Well, those sprays and powders are called pesticides.

Now, before we use any kind of pesticide, we need to make sure it's safe for the plants, the animals (including us!), and the environment. That's where the pesticide evaluation scheme comes in.

The pesticide evaluation scheme is like a big test that the pesticides have to pass before they can be used. Scientists and experts study the pesticide to see if it will hurt anything like plants, insects, animals or us humans. They also look at how it will affect our air, water, and soil.

If the pesticide passes all the tests and is deemed safe, then it can be used to help keep pests away from our plants and food. But, if the pesticide fails any of the tests, it can't be used because it could cause harm to living things or the environment.

So, the pesticide evaluation scheme helps make sure that the sprays and powders we use to protect our plants and food won't hurt anything or anyone else.
