WIPO DAS is like a secret bookshelf where important papers are kept safe. This bookshelf belongs to a club of countries who want to protect their inventions and ideas so nobody else can use them without permission. Every time a member of the club invents or creates something, they can put a copy of their invention papers (like drawings or descriptions) on this bookshelf. This way, if they ever need to show proof that they came up with the idea first, they can use the bookshelf as evidence. The bookshelf is also secret, which means that only members of the club can see what's on it. This helps protect the ideas even more, by keeping them safe from people who might want to copy them without permission.
