WWASP, or Worldwide Association of Specialty Programs, was a group of schools that were supposed to help teenagers who were struggling with certain problems like addiction or behavioral issues.
These schools were supposed to be like regular schools, but with extra help and support to help the students. However, there were many reports that some of these schools were actually really bad and abusive.
People reported that the students were mistreated and punished in really harsh ways, like being forced to eat things they didn't like or being left alone in the wilderness. Many students also said that they were not allowed to talk to their families, which made it really hard for them to get help if something was wrong.
Because of these reports, many people began to speak out against WWASP and the schools it supported. As a result, some of these schools were shut down and WWASP eventually disbanded.
It's important to remember that there are still good programs out there to help teens who need it, but it's always important to do research and make sure you're sending your child somewhere safe and supportive.
