ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Waffle (speech)

Waffle speech is when someone talks a lot about something but doesn't really say anything important or relevant. It's like talking in circles and not getting to the point of what you really want to say. It's like a waffle - it has a lot of little squares, but it doesn't really have a clear shape or purpose. Sometimes people waffle because they don't know the answer to a question or they're trying to avoid answering it, and sometimes they just like to hear themselves talk. But it can be frustrating to listen to someone waffling on and on without actually saying anything of value.
