ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Wali

Alright kiddo, have you ever heard of a wali? Basically, a wali is a person who helps and protects someone in Islam. They can be a family member or friend who looks out for you and helps you make good decisions.

For example, if a Muslim girl wants to get married, her wali (usually her father, but it could also be her brother or uncle) would help her find a good husband and make sure everything is done in the right way according to Islamic law.

The wali can also help you when you need advice or guidance, or when you're in trouble. They're sort of like a guardian angel, but in human form!

So that's what a wali is. They're all about supporting and looking out for their loved ones in the Muslim community. Pretty cool, huh?
