Wealth inequality in the United States means that some people have a lot more money and things than other people. It is an issue because it means that people with a lot of money have a lot more opportunities and choices in life. People without much money don't always have the same chances to do things like go to college or buy a house. It is an issue that the government is trying to address by helping those without much money get access to the same resources and opportunities that richer people have.
