ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Wealth management

Wealth management is like managing your piggy bank, but when you are much much older and have way more money, like hundreds or thousands of piggy banks worth of money.

When someone has a lot of money, they want to make sure it's safe and grows over time, just like you put your pennies and dimes in your piggy bank and shake it, so you can see them grow. But instead of an actual piggy bank, wealthy people work with experts called wealth managers to help them handle their money.

Wealth managers help people make decisions about how to invest their money and where to put it. They might suggest that someone invests in stocks, which means that the person buys a little piece of a company that they think will be successful, like a Lego company, and if the company does well, their investment grows.

Wealth managers also help people plan for their future goals, like buying a house or traveling to a new place. They will make sure that the person has enough money saved to reach those goals and that their money is in the right place to help them grow.

So, the wealth manager is like the person who helps you take care of your piggy bank, but on a much bigger scale. They help keep the money safe and grow bigger, so that the person can enjoy it and reach their goals.
