ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Weekend effect

The weekend effect is when things that happen on weekends are different than what happens on weekdays. For example, doctors and nurses might be at work during the week but take time off on the weekends. This means that sometimes people who are sick or hurt might have to wait longer before they can get help.

This kind of effect can happen in lots of other ways, too. Maybe there are fewer stores open on weekends or people spend more time outside when the weather is nice. Sometimes companies that sell things like stocks might not do as well on weekends because there aren't as many people buying or selling things.

Overall, the weekend effect means that things can be different on weekends than they are during the rest of the week. This can be good or bad, but it's important to know about so everyone can plan for it!
