ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Well partial order

A partial order is kind of like setting up a list of rules for what goes where. Imagine you have some blocks of different colors and shapes that you want to put in a pile. You can make a rule that says a block can go on top of another block if it is bigger than the one below it. But you can't put a square block on top of a round block because they don't fit together. This is a partial order because it is a set of rules for how things can be organized, but it doesn't cover every single possibility. It's like making a puzzle where some pieces only fit together in certain ways.
