So, a long time ago in a town called Much Wenlock in England, there was a man named Dr. William Penny Brookes who loved sports and wanted to get people excited about exercising and being healthy. He noticed that lots of people weren't very active and wanted to change that.
So, he came up with an idea for an event called the Wenlock Olympian Games. These were like the big, fancy Olympics that happen today, but just for people who lived in Wenlock. People from all over the town could come together and compete in fun sports like running, jumping, and throwing things.
At first, not a lot of people were interested in the Wenlock Olympian Games, but Dr. Brookes kept talking about it and convincing more and more people to join in. He even got the British Olympic Association to support it!
The Wenlock Olympian Games have been happening every year since 1850 and have inspired other places to start their own versions of the Olympics. Today, the Olympic Games are held all over the world and bring people from different countries together to celebrate sportsmanship and healthy living.
