The West Memphis Three are three men named Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley Jr. In 1993, the three men were wrongfully convicted of murdering three young boys in the small town of West Memphis, Arkansas. They were all teenagers at the time, and were wrongly convicted even though there was no evidence linking them to the crime. They were given very long sentences, with Echols being sentenced to death. After 18 years in prison, they were released in 2011 after new DNA evidence showed that they were not responsible for the murders. To this day, the real murderer has never been found and the West Memphis Three are still seeking justice.
