Whipper

Alright kiddo, a whipper is a term used in rock climbing when a climber takes a big fall that results in them being whipped or swung through the air. This happens when a climber is climbing up a rock face and they lose their grip or slip, causing them to fall down.

When a whipper happens, the climber's rope catches them, which causes them to swing back and forth through the air before coming to a stop. This can be scary and can cause the climber to feel a lot of adrenaline and fear.

But don't worry, kiddo! Climbers always wear special gear that keeps them safe even in the event of a whipper. They wear a harness that is attached to the rope, and often wear a helmet and padded clothes to protect them from hitting rocks or the ground.

Overall, a whipper may seem scary, but it's just a part of rock climbing and it's all about staying safe and having fun!
