ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

White (horse)

Okay kiddo, so let's talk about white horses! You know how horses can come in lots of different colors, like brown, black, and even spots? Well, some horses are born with really light-colored fur that looks almost white!

These horses are usually called "white" even though their fur might actually be more of a pale cream or gray color. But the way their fur looks is just one part of what makes them special.

White horses also have a gene that affects the color of their eyes and skin. This gene can cause their eyes to be a really pretty blue color, and it can make their skin under their fur pink instead of black or brown like most horses!

Now, white horses can be really beautiful, but they also need lots of extra care since their pink skin is more sensitive to the sun. That means they need to wear sunscreen just like we do to avoid getting sunburned!

So there you have it, kiddo. White horses are special because of their light-colored fur, blue eyes, and pink skin, but they also need extra care to keep them healthy and happy.
