White Sands National Park

White Sands National Park is a special place on earth where there are lots and lots of little tiny particles called sand. But this is not like the sand you find at the beach, because the sand here is really, really white!

This special sand was formed a long, long time ago when big rock formations broke down into tiny pieces because of the wind and rain. The sun and wind then helped these little pieces of rock turn into the beautiful sand we see today.

White Sands is a big park, with over 275 square miles of land! That's about the size of 200,000 football fields put together! There are lots of fun things to do at the park, like hiking, animal watching, and even sledding down the sand dunes.

One of the special things about White Sands is the way its sand feels. It's really soft and cool to the touch, because it reflects the heat from the sun. This makes it a great place to visit on hot, sunny days, because it won't burn your feet like other kinds of sand can!

So, if you ever want to visit a unique and beautiful place where you can play and explore, White Sands National Park is definitely worth a visit!
