Wilderness-acquired diarrhea

Wilderness-acquired diarrhea is when you get a tummy ache and feel like poop is going to come out of your butt while you're out in the wilderness having fun. It's kind of like a really bad stomach bug that makes your poop come out watery and gross.

The reason why this happens is because there are a lot of tiny little germs called bacteria and viruses that live in the wilderness. When you eat or drink something that has these germs in it, they can make you sick and give you diarrhea.

Some of the things that can have these germs in them include water from rivers and lakes, unpasteurized milk, and food that hasn't been cooked properly. So it's really important to be careful about what you put in your mouth when you're out in the wilderness.

If you do get wilderness-acquired diarrhea, it's important to stay hydrated so you don't get dehydrated, which means you lose too much water from your body. Drinking fluids like water and clear broths can help with this. And if you're really sick, you may need to take medicine or see a doctor to feel better.

But the best way to avoid getting wilderness-acquired diarrhea is to be careful about what you eat and drink. Make sure you only drink water that has been purified or boiled, and stay away from food that hasn't been cooked properly. And if you're not sure about something, it's probably best to just not eat it.
