Wind chill

Okay kiddo, so you know how when it's really cold outside, it feels even colder if the wind is blowing really hard? That's because wind chill is the way it feels outside when the wind is blowing, even if the actual temperature of the air isn't that low.

Let's say it's 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside without any wind. That's already pretty cold, right? But if the wind starts blowing, it can make it feel like it's even colder, like maybe it's only 10 degrees outside! This is because the wind carries away the heat from your body, making you feel colder.

Scientists have a special way to measure wind chill, and they even have a chart that tells us how cold it will feel at different temperatures and wind speeds. So, it's important to dress warmly and protect ourselves from the cold wind when we go outside in the winter. Stay warm and cozy, okay?
