Wind power in the United States

Wind power is a type of energy that comes from the wind. In the United States, we use wind power to make electricity. To make electricity from wind, we use wind turbines. These are big tall towers with big round pieces on the top that spin around like a fan. The wind spins the blades on the turbine, and this makes electricity. The electricity then travels down a power line so it can be used in our homes and businesses. Wind power helps us to have clean air, because wind power is much better for the environment than burning oil or coal. It also helps to save money since we don’t have to buy so much oil or coal. In the United States, most of the wind power is made in Texas, but it is getting more popular in many other states too!
