ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Winlink

Winlink is a special way for people to send messages to each other without needing internet or a phone. It's like a secret message club using special radios called ham radios. The radios can talk to each other over long distances, even across oceans and mountains!

When someone wants to send a message using Winlink, they first write it on their computer and then use a special program to send it through the ham radio to another person's ham radio. The message travels really fast from radio to radio and eventually gets to the person it's meant for.

This is really helpful when people don't have internet or phone service, like if they're in the middle of the ocean on a boat or out camping in the wilderness. With Winlink, they can still send important messages and stay connected with their friends and family.
