Wireless Public Key Infrastructure (W-PKI) is a way to protect the information that is sent and received over a wireless network. To make sure that, only the people we want can access the information, W-PKI uses a special type of encryption called public key encryption. This type of encryption uses two different keys - one called a public key and one called a private key. The public key is available to anyone who wants to access the network, but the private key must be kept secret. When a user tries to access the network, the public key is used to encrypt the data and the private key is used to decrypt the data. Because only the people with the private key can read the data, it ensures the data will remain secure.
